How do I load a cartridge into a lever grease gun?

Unscrew the barrel from the head, pull back the follower rod and lock it, remove the cartridge cap, insert the cartridge open end first towards the head, remove the seal at the other end, screw the barrel back on and release the rod.

Why is no grease coming out?

An air pocket in the barrel is the usual cause after loading. Loosen the head slightly and pump until grease appears at the thread, then retighten; some guns have a bleed valve for this. A blocked nipple or an empty barrel are the other causes.

How many strokes should I give a fitting?
