The Stemaids Wet & Dry Bulb Hygrometer, also known as a Mason’s Hygrometer or Psychrometer, is a classic and highly reliable instrument used to measure atmospheric humidity. Unlike electronic sensors that can drift over time, this analog device relies on the fundamental physical principle of evaporative cooling. It consists of two identical, high-precision thermometers mounted side-by-side. One bulb is exposed to the air (Dry Bulb) to measure ambient temperature, while the other is kept constantly moist by a cotton wick connected to a water reservoir (Wet Bulb). By comparing the temperature difference between the two, users can accurately determine the Relative Humidity (%RH) and Dew Point using the included psychrometric tables.
